Lund University in Sweden has teamed up with the Marine Centre in Simrishamn for a collaborative project aimed at exploring potential futures for the fishing port in Simrishamn and other Baltic fishing ports. The project focuses on sustainable fishing and the opportunities to refine and produce high-value products from the by-products of the fish processing industry.

The team recently visited the Iceland Ocean Cluster to learn from their experiences and gather insights on how to build an ecosystem of knowledge creation, innovators, and entrepreneurs, and effectively market their products. The goal is to create a sustainable and profitable future for the fishing industry in the Baltic region.

The collaboration between Lund University and the Marine Centre in Simrishamn highlights the importance of sustainable fishing practices and finding innovative solutions for the industry.
