Last Friday, a presentation was held in St. John’s in Newfoundland as a part of the Turning Waste into Value meeting series. The event was hosted by the Canadian Centre for Fisheries Innovation and around 50 guests attended. Representatives from the Iceland Ocean Cluster did their presentation on the Icelandic experience of by-products and demonstrated how other nations could benefit from Icelandic processing methods. With signs of the Canadian cod stock steadily recovering, Canadians have increasingly become interested in complete utilization of fish.
