Here, at the Iceland Ocean Cluster, we are happy to welcome aboard Judith Schuijs, a Dutch nutrition and health research professional, joining us in the role of Researcher.

Judith is a trained research professional from the Netherlands, with a background in nutrition and public health research. She relocated to Iceland and is excited to start a new chapter in her career. With a passion for healthy food, a love for nature and a keen interest in sustainable development, she is thrilled to bring her expertise and enthusiasm to Iceland Ocean Cluster. “I am particularly looking forward to contributing to innovative solutions that promote sustainable practices in the seafood sector”.

Her background and interests align perfectly with her role as researcher. She will be performing a rapid literature search focusing on the seafood sector of Alaska. The aim of this search is to create an overview of the nutritional properties of key Alaskan fish species, with special attention to the nutritional value of secondary yield and the potential use of these.

In her personal time, Judith enjoys long-distance sea swimming, crafting her own ceramics and exploring the unique natural landscapes of Iceland.
