OUR HOUSE
The Iceland Ocean Cluster (IOC) started in 2012. In the beginning, twelve companies had offices in the facilities but there are now over 70 companies of different sizes which represent every part of the ocean value chain in Iceland, from fisheries and aquaculture to seafood biotech companies. The companies range from newly established companies that are taking their first steps to well-established ones.
History of the house
Located by the Reykjavík harbour, the Iceland Ocean Cluster House was established in 2012 as a hub for innovation in the blue economy. The building, once a fish processing facility, has been transformed into a thriving workspace where entrepreneurs, researchers, and businesses collaborate to maximise value from marine resources. Today, it stands as a symbol of sustainable growth and forward-thinking solutions in the seafood industry.
