In the latest Opinion of the Iceland Ocean Cluster, the total food costs of cruise ships visiting Iceland has been estimated at ISK 3 bn. The current sales of food products by Icelandic firms on board cruise ships are evaluated at ISK 250-300 bn, making the current market share of Icelandic firms roughly 10%. Visits by foreign cruise ships can clearly bring ample opportunities to the Icelandic economy, but cooperation and vigorous marketing efforts are necessary.
