In May, the Iceland Ocean Cluster had the pleasure of visiting Ålesund, Norway, for a partner meeting as part of the Blue BioClusters EU Horizon project. Over several days, partners engaged with local businesses and institutions working at the forefront of marine innovation. Highlights included site visits to Arctic Algae, Arctic Bioscience, and Ode, where the project partners saw firsthand how companies are applying circular strategies and maximizing the value of marine resources.

The group also visited Atlanterhavsparken – The Norwegian Aquarium and Science Centre, where the connection between ocean education, research, and sustainability was on full display.

Throughout the trip, Blue BioClusters partners shared insights, explored potential collaborations, and deepened connections that support the transition to a more sustainable, ecosystem-based blue economy across Europe.
