The Iceland Ocean Cluster are pleased to announce a new co-operation agreement which has been signed with the Blue Bioeconomy Collaborative Laboratory (B2E CoLAB), Portugal. Between our two organisations we have agreed to seek opportunities to collaborate together on projects that bring strengths and challenges for both institutes and countries. Key topics where our organisations aim to work together are on 100% utilisation of seafood products, aquaculture production and marine biotechnology.
B2E CoLAB is a private non-profit association which has been operating since 2020. It facilitates connection and synergy between research, education, innovation and the business world in the blue bioeconomy sector, The association was created by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education in Portugal. In particular B2E CoLAB is developing added-value bio-based products and services inspired by the ocean and we look forward to working with them in future research and innovation projects that create both economic and social value.
Iceland and Portugal together have a rich shared history in the whitefish sector and there is so much opportunity to develop a shared future in 100%fish and the wider blue bioeconomy.
