Being part of the Iceland Ocean Cluster has helped us stay close to the seafood industry, build valuable relationships, and open doors to new opportunities in international markets.

What is LearnCove, and when did they join the Cluster?

LearnCove is an Icelandic software company that helps seafood companies digitise and simplify quality processes, operational logs, checklists, and employee training.

Instead of printing paper forms, filling them out by hand, and later entering the information manually into a quality system, LearnCove allows employees to complete logs and checklists directly on devices in the facility. This makes it easier for teams to keep accurate records, follow procedures, train employees across different languages, and access the right data when preparing for audits and inspections.

LearnCove joined the Iceland Ocean Cluster in 2021 and has been part of the community since then.

Why did LearnCove join the Cluster?

We joined the Iceland Ocean Cluster because it brings together many of the companies, people, and ideas connected to the Icelandic seafood industry. For LearnCove, being close to seafood companies, industry experts, service providers, and other innovators has been very valuable.

The Cluster has given us a place to build relationships, learn from what is happening in the industry, and stay close to the real challenges seafood companies are facing. Since LearnCove is now especially focused on quality and operations in North American seafood companies, the connections and insights from the Icelandic seafood community have also helped us understand how our solution can support similar companies in other markets.

One recent example of something the Cluster has offered or supported that has been useful

These conversations have often opened doors for us. We have met seafood companies, industry partners, and visitors from other countries through the Cluster, and some of those meetings have led to further introductions and opportunities in new markets.

For a company like LearnCove, which is building software for quality, training, operations, and compliance in seafood, being part of this environment has been very useful. It helps us stay connected to the industry, test our thinking, and build relationships that can support our growth internationally.
