The Ocean Cluster has compiled information on the value of the startups that have been in formal collaboration with the cluster since its inception in 2011. About 170 startups have partnered with the Ocean Cluster over these 13 years, either having facilities in the Ocean Cluster House or being collaborators. The market value of the shares of those startups that have been bought and sold, for which price information is available, amounts to about 330 billion. Seven startups from this large group of innovative companies constitute the core of the values mentioned here. These include startups in the health and pharmaceutical industry, aquaculture, traceability, and refrigeration technology.
Will the new startups, which will be introduced at the Ocean Cluster’s Open House on May 15th, be the next stars of Iceland’s blue economy?
