From the latest Opinion of the Iceland Ocean Cluster (Icelandic): This fall there seem to be signs of a growing interest among Icelandic youth for gaining education in fisheries and related fields. In those schools that the Iceland Ocean Cluster received information of, enrollments in ocean related fields increased by 46% between 2011 and 2012, which is considerably higher than in previous years. This trend needs to be enforced by further strengthening the foundations of education in the field and promoting collaboration between schools and businesses.
