The New England Ocean Cluster (NEOC), founded in 2014, fosters innovation in the blue economy by connecting ocean-focused entrepreneurs, companies, and researchers. Based in Portland, Maine, it supports sustainable growth through collaborative workspaces, events, and initiatives, advancing industries like fisheries, aquaculture, and renewable energy while promoting environmental responsibility. Due to the rich history of Maine and lobster fishing, one of the main focus points of the NEOC is around lobster and shellfish full utilization.

Danish Ocean Cluster

The Danish Ocean Cluster, established in Hirtshals, Denmark is our newest sister cluster, founded in September of 2024. The DOC aims to strengthen commercial relations within the blue sector by promoting innovative and circular business models. It focuses on sustainability in the North Sea and Atlantic Ocean, benefiting Denmark’s fishing industry and industrial ports.

Namibian Ocean Cluster

Established in the beggining of 2024, the Namibian Ocean Cluster aims to minimize waste and maximize socio-economic value of the fish harvested from the Namibian fisheries sector.

 

Oregon Ocean Cluster

The Oregon Ocean Cluster Initiative (OCI), led by the Oregon Coast Visitors Association, aims to strengthen the state’s maritime economy by promoting local seafood consumption, investing in infrastructure, and providing workforce training. OCI fosters collaboration among coastal communities, seafood businesses, and academic institutions to enhance sustainability and resilience.
