Maria joined the Iceland Ocean Cluster for an internship and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Digital Management and Data Analysis at the University of Reykjavík. Her professional experience lies in talent acquisition, having worked for several years in software companies, helping them build strong tech teams.
She was drawn to the Iceland Ocean Cluster because of her deep inspiration from the ocean – which also played a key role in her decision to make Iceland her home. The more Maria has learned about the Cluster, its partners, and its activities, the more confident she feels in her choice. She believes that the blue economy and sustainability are not just trending topics, but fundamental drivers of responsible innovation and a resilient future. She finds it especially engaging to see how business, technology, sustainability, collaboration, and a sense of community can come together in one place.
Originally from Ukraine, Maria has been living in Iceland for over two years. During this time, she has continued to work in IT talent acquisition while also focusing on developing her management skills to contribute across different industries and challenges.
In her free time, Maria enjoys exploring new cities, reading, cooking, and continuously learning new things.
