What is your name and background? How did you hear about the Iceland Ocean Cluster?
“My name is Jason and I am from the US, studying finance and marketing at the University of Richmond. I heard about the Cluster through LinkedIn posts about the 100% Fish Utilization model.”
Why did you want to join the Iceland Ocean Cluster?
“After finding out about the company, I did a lot of research and found the initiatives and projects the cluster works on very interesting. I visited Iceland once before and loved it, so I wanted an opportunity to live and travel in Iceland while doing meaningful work for a great company.”
How did your time interning at the Iceland Ocean Cluster help you?
“I learned a ton about sustainability and the opportunities the ocean and life within it has to offer. My favorite part about my time was how the team at the Cluster was super open to letting me work on whatever I wanted. They wanted to make it as beneficial for me and my studies as possible. Additionally, the team was super welcoming and really helped me integrate and learn a lot about Icelandic culture which I loved. I will always remember my summer at the Iceland Ocean Cluster as life-changing and transformative.”
