The Iceland Ocean Cluster has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Pacific Islands Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA).
The collaboration focuses on a simple question: how to create more value from the seafood side streams.
In Iceland, this has meant working towards full utilisation of cod and haddock side streams. In the Pacific, where large volumes of tuna are processed, there is similar potential to make better use of what is currently underutilised.
This MoU builds directly on our ongoing work in the Pacific through the Global Ocean Clusters in the Pacific. The aim is to strengthen local ecosystems, connect companies, and explore potential cluster development in the Pacific region.
