Emilie holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Marine Biology from universities above the Arctic Circle in Norway. Growing up across several continents, she developed an early love for the ocean, though it was the colder, less-charted waters of the Arctic that captured her scientific imagination and shaped her academic path. From northern Norway to Vancouver Island to a 1.5-year research stay in Svalbard working alongside international scientists, her interests gradually expanded into how science infiltrates innovation, entrepreneurship and decision-making.

This curiosity led her to a role as Scientific Analyst at an ocean-focused impact investment firm, where she worked at the intersection of science, industry and capital. She brings to the Iceland Ocean Cluster a genuine curiosity about how coastal nations identify and develop their marine opportunities. Having spent years embedded in Norway’s blue economy ecosystem, connecting with kelp farmers, founders, academics and investors, she has built an intuition for how companies in this space operate and where the gaps between science and capital tend to appear – knowledge that feeds directly into her internship project mapping and structuring Nordic blue economy SMEs for investment insight.

In her spare time, Emilie enjoys hiking, surfing, camping and free-diving whilst visiting family in France.
